Ideal[180 Degrees / Corinthian Recordings / 404 Audio / DnBTV]

As one of Atlanta’s resident locals since 2000, Ideal has consistently brought the friendlier sounds of drum’n’bass to the frontline. Milestones include a residency held at Nomenclature Museum; his original crew World Tribe’s Innovox after-hours events; winning the Summer Skool 2002 dj competition finals; broadcasting numerous times on 88.5 fm’s Subterranean drum’n’bass show; and frequently playing at Atlanta’s acclaimed dnb weeklies throughout the years, including Versus, Pressure, and the current Transit series. He has opened up for many rising stars in the scene including Cyantific, Basic Operations, Vicious Circle, The DnB Liberation Front Tour, and Danny Byrd, Amaning, and Focus’ Round and Round Tour. He has been a resident with 180 Degrees since its early days and has helped it grow to become the reputable and diverse production group it is today.

Ideal puts a strong focus on the fusion of synthesized and organic sounds and melodies in a genre where the segregation of the two predominates. He also maintains the fundamental bass rush and energy that dnb heads live for. The sounds he presents can range from soulful vibes, to electro rollers, to the ever promising techmosperics, with the occasional foray into the abstract and surreal. His ongoing search for fresh and innovative producers brings material to the masses not heard by many. With such wide reaching interests, Ideal’s sets are designed to be fluidly orchestral in nature, and rarely do they end in the same mode that they started. Ideal’s solid mixing combined with an eclectic selection is sure to satisfy and intrigue any lover of the drum and bass genre.
